Privacy policy
1. Who we are
This privacy policy describes how ZeroCrimes (trade name ZeroCrimes; "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit www.zerocrimes.com, contact us about working together, or otherwise interact with our public marketing properties (the "Site").
Controller / operator. ZeroCrimes operates the Site. Formation jurisdiction (working): Delaware, United States. Principal business address for legal notices: available on written request to founders@zerocrimes.com.
Privacy contact. founders@zerocrimes.com — use this address for privacy questions and requests described in §9.
This policy applies to business visitors and prospective enterprise customers. It does not describe product telemetry for deployed customer environments, which is governed by separate enterprise agreements.
2. Information we collect
- Contact and inquiry data — name, business email, company, role, and message content when you email us or inquire about working together.
- Essential site operation data — standard web server and hosting logs that may include IP address, user agent, requested URLs, referrers, and timestamps. These logs are generated by our hosting infrastructure (currently Vercel) to operate and secure the Site.
- Communications — records of correspondence with our team for business development and support of pre-contract discussions.
Cookies and analytics (current Site). The public Site does not use third-party advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or a separate product-analytics SDK. We do not presently set non-essential analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, provide a consent or preference mechanism before enabling non-essential technologies.
3. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Respond to inquiries and evaluate whether we can help;
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the public Site;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use;
- Send business communications about ZeroCrimes products, design-partner discussions, or events where we have a lawful basis or your consent, and where permitted by law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use Site data to make automated legal or compliance determinations about visitors.
Marketing email. If we send promotional or nurture email to a business contact, you may unsubscribe using the link in that email (where provided) or by writing to founders@zerocrimes.com. Transactional replies to your inquiries are not marketing.
4. Lawful bases (EEA / UK visitors)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on one or more of these bases:
- Legitimate interests — operating a B2B marketing site, securing the Site, and responding to enterprise inquiries, balanced against your rights;
- Contract / steps prior to contract — when you ask us to discuss a potential engagement;
- Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law;
- Consent — where we rely on consent (for example, if we later enable non-essential cookies and consent is required).
International transfers. Information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) with providers. Details for a specific transfer can be requested at founders@zerocrimes.com.
5. Sharing
We may share information with:
- Service providers — hosting and infrastructure (including Vercel), email and workspace tools, and security vendors, under contractual confidentiality and processing terms;
- Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, or similar advisers bound by confidentiality;
- Legal and safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of our services or others.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers.
6. Retention and security
We retain inquiry and correspondence data for as long as needed for the purposes above, typically for the life of an active discussion and a reasonable period afterward for continuity and legal holds, then delete or de-identify when no longer required. Server logs are retained according to our host's defaults and our operational needs, generally on the order of weeks to months unless a security investigation requires longer.
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. California and similar US state privacy notices
If you are a resident of California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, this section supplements the rest of this policy.
Categories collected (Site). Identifiers (such as name, email, IP address); commercial / inquiry information (company, role, message content); internet or electronic activity (pages requested, timestamps, user agent) from essential logs.
Purposes. As described in §3. Sources. Directly from you and automatically from your browser/device when you use the Site.
Sale / share. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
Rights. Subject to verification and exceptions under applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, and a copy of personal information, and you may appeal a denial where the law provides an appeal. To exercise rights, email founders@zerocrimes.com with the subject line "Privacy request" and enough detail for us to locate your data. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
8. Children
The Site is directed to business professionals and enterprise buyers. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, contact founders@zerocrimes.com and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and requests
You may request access, correction, or deletion of inquiry data, or exercise other rights available under applicable law, by contacting founders@zerocrimes.com. We may need to verify your identity (for example, by confirming control of the email address used in the inquiry) before fulfilling a request. We aim to respond within 30 days of a verifiable request, or sooner if required by law; complex requests may take longer where the law allows, in which case we will tell you.
Because we do not presently use non-essential cookies on the Site, there is no separate cookie preference center. Browser controls still apply to any cookies your browser stores for this domain.
EEA/UK visitors may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the concern.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will take additional steps appropriate to the change (for example, a prominent notice on the Site or a note to recent inquiry contacts). The revised policy applies from the effective date shown as "Last updated," except where applicable law requires a different effective date or affirmative consent.
This page remains an interim public draft pending licensed counsel review. It does not become "counsel-reviewed" until that review is recorded.
11. Related terms
Use of the Site is also subject to our Terms of Use.
